蔡尉成-「應物”變”形」個展,即將於2018/1/14在大雋藝術拉開帷幕。著名藝術評論教授: 徐婉禎將擔任此次展覽的策展人。這是藝術家蔡尉成20年藝術創作生涯的創新詮釋。『人稟七情,應物斯感』-人皆有『喜、怒、憂、懼、愛、憎、慾』,而環境的變遷使人心盪漾,自然而然地激發了創作慾望。然而蔡尉成也本著東方哲學之靜觀其變,以不變應萬變之道,充份表達了『情感』與『變』的共生與共存,進而創作出『情慾系列』七件新作品。

本展覽旨「應物”變”形」乃源自於中國品畫理論「謝赫六法」其中之三─「應物象形」,將「象」改為「變」正呼應其中意欲連結自我內外的企圖,主客體兩者間之相互涉入相互牽連的融合。蔡尉成將自己寄身於孫悟空多變的形體,傳達著內外交通的意念,這種主客體互涉的交融狀態表現在藝術作品中。

此次展覽新作,在作品本質上保留了「西遊記」孫悟空七十二變系列的識別特徵-緊箍以及如意棒,但在實際形體上,跳脫以往圓潤渾厚的造形,不刻意拋光修飾,留下了創作過程的手做痕跡,展現出捏塑之時心手相通一種無以言喻的自由,外敷的顏色配合土材堆塑過程中所造成的凝塊,更加突顯出泥石的凹凸與疙瘩,揮灑上色氣度豪邁,猶如開闊萬千的抽象繪畫,這使得作品顯現為一種氣勢的流動感,像是無垠亙古宇宙中紛飛的流沙,因為特定的因緣、在特定的時空交錯而匯聚成形,這是不可說之神妙瞬間,藝術作品將須臾凝固進而化作永恆。

Tsai Wei-Cheng – “Transforming after objects” solo exhibition is going to be opened on Jan 14th at Rich Art Gallery. This exhibition is going to be curated by Hsu Woan-Jen who is a famous art criticism professor.This is a new innovative presentation of Tsai Wei-Cheng, in his 20-year-long artistic career.“The human being is the animal of emotions, thus we will be sentimental for surrounding objects.Everyone has the emotions of “joy, anger, sorrow, fear, love, hate, desire,” and the changes of the environment make peoples’ hearts ripple and naturally stimulate the desires of the creative.Nevertheless , adhering to Oriental philosophy, Tsai Wei-Cheng holds the spirit of staying while coping with all the changes, also fully demonstrating the symbiosis and coexistence of “emotion” and “change”, creating seven new works of “Emotion-Series”.

The exhibition “Transforming after Objects” originates from “Hsieh-He six codes” and “Correspondence to the Object,” reflecting the “correspondence” with “transforming” reflecting the pursuit of connecting the internal and external self, which Tsai Wei-Cheng intended to express through his new collection.

Tsai Wei-cheng regards himself in the changing form of the Monkey King, to convey the ideas of inside and outside. This blend of subject and object is present in the performance of the artwork.
The exhibition, in essence, preserves the characteristic features of the Monkey King seventy-two series of “Journey to the West”“, “Tightening Ring”,“Golden Cudgel”.However, the shape and the appearance is different compared with the past.The artwork hasn’t been polished and decorated deliberately, leaving hand traces of the creative process. It shows an unparalleled freedom when blending and molding.Material clogging caused by the process of clotting,it highlights the bumps and lumps of mud, swaying boldness of color, like an abstract painting.It makes the artwork appear as a kind of momentum of the flow and feelings,such as the immense sands of the universe.Because of a particular cause, in a specific space-time, interlacing and forming.This is a magical moment that can not be said, the work of art will be frozen and then turned into eternity.
